What's in a name?----the german language seems real vowel/averse, consonent/biased. Look at these family names. No Browns, Smiths, Jones. Many of the street names have people's names in them. i had a lot of difficulty in understanding street directions because of this. For instance, in Munich we stayed near Goetheplatz. To read it, it's obvious.............but spoken by the germans, it comes out gtpz!!!!!!!!!!! It produced some pretty frustrating exchanges with hotel clerks. On the open road, with the GPS, the problem was non-existent.
