Ticket Scalpers: Scores of locals were buying/selling tickets to the event along the main entrance road.(washington rd.). Monday round was $250 on the street, tuesday $300, and Wednesday was $400. Face value on ticket is $31. I bought our tickets for tuesday on ebay for $200 weeks ago. We did go over monday afternoon at 3pm, having bought a ticket from one of these guys for $20 each. I dont think the augusta national frowns on this, it provides a cottage industry for the locals once a year. The 4-day badge for the tournament itself has a face value of $175 and brings $5000 on ebay. Scalping for the big tournament is highly frowned on, and the masters committeee frequently buys tickets illegally to trace the original owner/seller. they then revoke the badge.
