on to scotland-this was our B&B in inverness. the home was completely built out of the native materials. slate roof from local rock, granite blocks are local, as is the wood for the window sills. i found scotland generally visually awesome and stunning, but austere and boring. the scots i engaged were generally very unamerican.....my impression is they resented our independence. while they have their own parliament, england pulls the fiscal and political strings and runs the show. this place was so far north that it didnt get dark until 10pm.
