some of the pictures allow me to explain "how we roll" , as they say on the street. we prefer a rental car to buses and tours. we like a more direct experience and the freedom that allows. we fly coach to save money to spend when we get to our destination. now, to be honest, this has a downside. renting a car is stressful, even with insurance. new roads, roundabouts, new language, strange road signs and customs, etc. different types of people prefer doing things different ways. to say travelling this way isn't a strain on me and peg would be misleading. we are both strong, and independent. in short, we did battle. some days a little, some days a lot. we were lost driving, we were lost walking, we were lost on the subways, we lost our car. but we know how we travel and could return to true north quickly, which is critical on a trip of 2 weeks. we spent every waking hour with each other for 2 weeks. at home we are usually doing different things...............the result is what matters, and this was our best trip yet.
