our hosts for our trip to the country. the opel rental car(francois) was more than adequate. 8 days for $141us, a great price, helped by the fact we choose a stick shift, which i don't mind. peg is holding geneveive, our tomtom gps. the car rental company wanted more money for 8 days gps rental than for the car, so we downloaded a france map to our own gps for $35. a word about geneveive, she's very dependable on main roads, but frequently loses her brains in small medieval towns. we had paper maps, but nothing with much detail of small towns, so in another trip we would include a road atlas to support geneveive. one fellow i talked to on a tour said he used his iphone with built-in gps, and it worked real well. i may try that next time.
