a view of the cliffs the rangers scaled. the night before the raid , the allied ranger captain went into his commanding officer saying the landing was suicide mission and had no chance of success. the commanding officer fired him on the spot and led the troops himself. he later returned to the spot in the early fifties and remarked even he didn't know how his troops scaled those cliffs! i think there were 175 rangers,, and only a small amt of casualties since the germans had retreated to the hedgerows.
