this is peg in front of butler cabin, the main golf and dining area for members. this place typifies all that is good AND bad about the old south. stories abound that lee trevino(mexican) was so intimidated by the culture that he wouldnt even change his spikes in the player's area. he also never won here. as with anything, the racial and cultural bias is overexagerated. this place is different alright, but it's different because 400 or so super-rich golfers will stop at nothing to have the premier event in golf.
