Rothenburg, Bavaria(Burg Hotel)-Peg always picks an extra nice place for our first nite, and this was no exception. We prebooked the first and last night, all the other days we made up as we went along. We had a room on the second floor with a great view over the walls of the city. That's our rental car in the forground. We had purchased the requisite Michelin and ADAC maps on the web, but this time paid the extra $6 per/day for a gps system in the car. The CD had all of europe on it, and had a german lady speaking in english and giving driving directions. We called her Eva Braun. After building trust for a few routes, we estimated out of 12 days, we saved at least 1 1/2 days time using her. We'd breeze thru cities with cloverleafs, merging left and right, depending on what she told us to do. A real stress buster, i'll always use the gps in the future if i can. This was our first day, and had just driven what is called the "romantic highway", a beautiful drive that includes many medieval walled cities. Bavaria is all about walled castles and the alps. we were to see lots of both............
