German locals---There's a lot of media attention about americans being hated in europe. I didnt find germans especially unfriendly. I always ask before taking a picture, and always inquire about their knowledge of english before asking questions. I went home with a nice experience of the germans, austrians, and swiss. It occurred to me the anti-american stories are a bit overblown by our media. In this part of Germany, they dont pay a lot of attention to media. Television is so bad u just cant watch it. Dubbed over american shows, a couple of soap operas, and even one dubbed version of South Park. Things here in Bavaria tend more to staying the same way they've been for centuries.
