Martin Luther-we are not the only country obligated to name streets after historic figures. there was one of these in almost every town. Luther, of course, was the father of protestantism in europe and the first to question papal infallability. He made quite a dent in the way we see ourselves. the word 'protestant' meant to protest the teachings of the catholic church. while bavaria remained catholic, he was still instrumental in swaying opinions. a sidebar about luther was that he was responsible for making germans so anal retentive. a philosophy-professor i had in college swore luther was taking a dump when he discovered the devil(cleanliness is next to godliness), and that was the actual birth of anality. who knows? tell u one thing, anal they are. beer, wine, and cola glasses are marked for exact milliliter measurement. breakfast tables all have a silver container for table scraps and paper.
