ah, the tube! subway and parking both controlled by hitech vending machines. no subway employees, all of it is automated. seem like a good idea? peg and i put a tenner in, get an 8,50E ticket for both of us for the next 24 hrs. we feed the ticket into a time stamp machine before goiing down to the train. the kicker? no one checks the tickets!!!!!!. the gov does random checks, and a 40E fine is levied when caught, but we saw scores of young people just not buying tickets. hello? wouldnt work in the u.s. and i suspect it doesnt work here either. politicians keeping their jobs by subsidising the poor. socialism at it's best! Honor system, Riiiiiiiiight!!!!!!!!
