the man, the myth, the legend.........mozart!!!!! we did the 'salzburg greatest hits' walking tour, in spite of the rain. we just bought umbrellas and were the only 2 tourists in our tour. My first question of our guide was "did the allies bomb Salzburg?" Our guide,. Otto Knowbetter replies, "it wasnt bombed by the allies, it was bombed by the americans.". excuse me? hello? huh? duh? was hitler's hideout 10k from here? werent the austrians our enemy? what an asshole! anyway, we loved the city, and made a mental note to get back in the future and spend a few days there. lots of art, theatre. a real cultural centre.
